Privacy statement for job applicants
This page contains the privacy statement for job applicants for the 5 Dommelvallei organizations: the municipalities of Geldrop-Mierlo, Nuenen and Son en Breugel and the joint arrangements Dienst Dommelvallei and the PlusTeam.
Purpose of privacy statement
We handle your personal data with care, we do this in line with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).
We inform you in this privacy statement about:
- the personal data we process from you as an applicant for employment;
- the way we do;
- how long we keep your data;
- How we secure your information and
- What your rights are.
With this privacy statement we also inform you who you can contact with your questions, requests or complaints. Please read this information carefully.
Important terms
Personal data is data that provides characteristic information about a person, such as a name, address or e-mail address. Data that can be traced back to someone also falls under the concept of personal data (for example, a telephone number).
Processing personal data covers all the operations we can perform with your personal data, from collection and consultation to destruction.
Data we process from you
We process personal data only for the purposes for which you have provided it to us. These include assessing your suitability for the position or evaluating your application data. Here we check prior education and certifications obtained, limiting ourselves to the inventory.
To contact you about the application process, we use your contact information, such as your email address and phone number.
By application data we mean your name, date of birth, address, contact details, motivation to want to work for our organization, details of education you have completed and diplomas you have obtained, your work experience and references. Data for the possible conclusion of an employment contract are also job application data.
Sharing your personal data
We use your personal data only for the purposes for which we obtained it. In some cases it may be necessary to share your data with others. This concerns parties that process data for us. For example, we use application software provided by an external party. We have entered into a processing agreement with that party to ensure that your data is appropriately secured and protected.
Retention of your data
We do not store your personal data longer than necessary. In doing so, we adhere to the statutory retention periods.
Application without employment
If you are not hired, we will retain your application data for up to 4 weeks after the rejection of your application. If you give us your explicit permission, we will store your application data for a maximum of one year. If you withdraw your consent, we will delete your application data immediately.
Application, leading to employment
If your application leads to employment, your application data will become part of the personnel file and will be kept as long as it is relevant, with a guideline of 2 years after the end of employment for specific data, e.g. for legal reasons or to have proof of the application process in case of a possible conflict.
Securing your personal data
We take organizational and technical measures to properly secure your personal data. The measures we take depend on the type of personal data we process. We therefore have an appropriate level of protection. We also adjust this if necessary. Your rights
You have certain rights under the AVG with respect to the personal data we process about you:
- Insight into your application process;
- A copy of your data;
- Receive information about the processing of your data (this is also the purpose of this privacy statement);
- Have information corrected that is factually incorrect;
- Limit processing of information;
- Complete incomplete information;
- Object to the use and processing of your data;
- If you have consented to the use of your data, withdraw that consent;
- Filing a complaint with the national personal data regulator, the Personal Data Authority (AP) in The Hague. However, we ask you to contact us first to see how we can possibly resolve your complaint.
