Civil engineering employee

This is an old post.

"Are you studying or have you just graduated in Civil Engineering (mbo or hbo)? Or would you like to gain work experience within civil engineering projects for a municipality? We would like to offer you this opportunity. Our experienced employees will gladly teach you the tricks of the trade. Together we can give direction to what you really like. Send us your CV and we will gladly discuss your motivation in an introductory meeting!"

Bram Brouwers, Realization Team Manager.

Your new challenge

Within the Realization team of the Space department, we carry out a lot of work 'in-house'. We design, draw and realize projects in public space ourselves. The projects you can work on vary from redesigns including sewer replacement of existing streets, construction and preparation of expansion plans including access roads, construction of speed reduction measures, sports facilities, maintenance measures for roads, sewers and solutions to flooding. Within project groups you go through the entire process from ideation to actual realization. Municipality Geldrop-Mierlo is a medium-sized municipality and we work hard together with residents, businesses and institutions to ensure a pleasant living and working environment. You will work in a team consisting of the following disciplines: civil engineering, road and water management, cultural engineering, works supervision and geo-information. In total, you will have 22 colleagues within the Realization team. You will be one of 4 civil engineering specialists!

These will be your duties

  • Developing (sketch) designs into specifications and making working drawings on behalf of the above projects to eventually enable their realization.
  • Prepare cost estimates and perform ancillary work for civil engineering works.
  • Supervise and support tenders/procurement of civil engineering works.
  • Represent the civil engineering discipline within project groups.
  • Perform various (minor) tasks for the purpose of maintenance and management of public space such as creating maintenance specifications.

You are the ideal candidate if;
"You want to (further) develop yourself in the field of diverse civil engineering projects, are eager to learn and dare to give your own input. An education in civil engineering (mbo education with hbo working and thinking level or a hbo education) is required. It is a plus if you have experience with drawing in AutoCad (InfraCad) and specification writing according to the RAW system (GWW bundle) but certainly not a hard requirement, after all, we are here to teach you the tricks of the trade. Enthusiasm and wanting to develop yourself is the most important thing for us!"

The following is what you can expect from us

- A salary of up to €4,208 gross per month based on a 36-hour
working week (scale 9, salary level April 1, 2022) depending on your education and
experience.

- A freely disposable Individual Choice Budget of 17.05% which includes

it becomes an employment contract for an indefinite period of time.
- Training budget because we like to invest in your development.
- Flexible working hours with the possibility to work partly from home.
- At the start of your job you will receive a laptop and a cell phone.
- Working for a medium-sized municipality where your own input and initiative are
